We are learning to predict what will happen next...

As a class we have read the book "The Crocodiles Christmas Jandles." This is a story about a crocodile who get some cool jandles for Christmas. When he wears them they make him feel like he is walking on party time. He takes them to the beach but he looses one in the water.

We used the word predict to guess how he would find his jandle. We thought of many different ideas... here are some of them!!

Explanation Text

Room 3 have been learning the features of an Explanation text. We have used this burger model to help us understand what parts are included when writing an explanation text.

  
  

We put our own burgers together in the right order and matched parts of an Explanation Text about the life cycle of a frog.

This week we learnt how to write and introduction for an Explanation Text using topic words. Once we had done that we read each other work and highlighted the topic words our friends had used. We gave them feedback on what we liked about their work.

ANZAC Parade

This week Room 3 have been learning and writing about an ANZAC Parade. We watched videos and listened to stories. Room 3 made a plan for they writing by using key words and used their plan to write their story. Instructional writing - How to make a sandwich we like!

This week Room 3 made their own instructions on how to make a sandwich they liked. They then followed these instructions. Their teachers are pretty impressed with their independent instructional writing!!!

Joshua worked really hard to write his sentences by himself by listening to the sounds he could hear when writing a new word!!!

Fereti was very excited to show his writing on the blog!

Azaleigha wrote all her sentences by herself and was very proud to read it out in assembly.

Jairus worked hard to write his sentences and also edited them to put in his full stops and capital letters!

Ocean finished his instructions on how to write a sandwich first, and even let his new buddy share them and make a sandwich to.
